Traveling solos is one adventure we highly recommend.
Along with discovering foreign lands, you discover more about yourself as well. That to us is among the biggest gifts traveling can give us.
Of course, traveling solo comes with its own little boo-boos. So in order to make the most out of your next journey, we’ve lined up some of the traveling mistakes you should try and avoid.
- Not doing enough research
It’s great not to have a fixed itinerary sometimes. However, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t research about the place you’re traveling to. From local etiquette to off-the-beaten track places, take some time to check what else is there to see beyond the typical things.
Remember that you’re traveling solo. You won’t have a constant companion to give you a hand with your heavy bags. So the next best thing? Pack light! Have only the essentials that will make your travel better and easier. Before bringing all that stuff with you, ask yourself: Do you really need that
- Not packing snacks on the road
We won’t blame you if you’re trying to save yourself for the seafood spread the place has promised you. However, it won’t hurt packing a few snacks along the way. Travels may take a while and may make you hungry each time. So have a few light snacks like protein bars to keep you full and energetic.
- Obsessing about Instagram-worthy photos
Remember: Your Instagram feed doesn’t define you. Quit obsessing about taking the best photos and deleting everything that’s blurry, misaligned or what not. These candid photos make a huge bulk of your adventure. When the time comes, those photos will bring more memories that those you’ve staged.
